Ariana and RD | Art Institute Chicago Wedding Photography
The groom woke up and his car was gone. This is not how most wedding days begin, but every wedding is unique. RD quickly realized he’d parked in a spot clearly marked No-Parking. “No Worries,” he thought, “it’s my wedding day.” And so it began. Ariana was getting ready when we met her that morning at the Palmer House Hilton in Chicago. A beautiful and historic hotel that is not only close to the Art Institute, but reflects the character. The couple had been watching the weather with a close eye all week. The night before they had been calling for a 50% chance of rain. A scary number when your plan is to get married outdoors with the Chicago skyline as your backdrop. It was the Air and Water show on this particular weekend, so there were certainly lots of people hoping for good weather. Fortunately, we got it. Sure it was hot as we made our way around town to locations like the Wrigley Building and the Planetarium point. But we’ll take heat over rain. Weather cooperating, Ariana and RD had a stunningly beautiful wedding on the manicured grounds of the Chicago Art Institute. It was outdoors, in the shade, with bustling Michigan Ave. just a few feet away. The beautiful landscaping kept all the city noises at bay. It was just gorgeous. The cocktail hour and reception followed immediately. Guests enjoyed the art, drinks, appetizers, and the good company of one another as they celebrated love. It was a picture perfect day. We also had the pleasure of working with the awesome gals at Estera Events ~ we hope we get the chance to do it again soon!
